A Specialist teaching unit was required at Honeywood’s school, Storm were contracted to undertake the construction of the new unit within the confines of the existing school, the works were made difficult by the location of the building (within the centre of the school) and even more so by the requirement of the work to be undertaken whilst the school is still in full use. We undertook the piled groundworks with a concrete slab with care to ensure minimal disruption to the school, brickwork and roof structure followed without any disruption. The internal fit out included a new accessible toilet and a large teaching space with clean sweeping lines to the flooring and acoustic ceiling tiles. The lighting was designed with microwave sensors and included intelligent controls enabling various scene settings. The project was handed over on time and budget to the joy of the client.
