Fire system designs
We offer a FREE survey service to establish your exact needs before offering advice. Once fully aware of your requirements and budget, we can specify a fire alarm design with systems ranging from a simple conventional type through to a more complex analogue addressable system. Each fire safety system is designed to conform fully to the current British Standards. All members of our design and sales team are fully trained to offer impartial advice and guidance on BS 5839 and other relevant standards, keeping up to date with current legislation. You will then be provided with a detailed specification and quotation.

Fire Alarm Installations
Once a system design has been agreed, we will arrange a suitable time for our industry trained fire alarm installers to carry out the installation strictly following the agreed specification and the requirements of British Standards BS 5839 Pt1 2004. We believe any control system is only as good as the fire alarm installers and cables connecting it. We pride ourselves in having grown a successful business based upon the extremely high standards we place on our installations and commissioning engineers.
On successful completion your system will be fully commissioned, handed over and training can be arranged for the end user of the system.

Fire Alarm maintenance contracts
Regular maintenance checks are essential to ensure your fire system performs correctly. We specialise in fire alarm maintenance contract packages to suit your individual needs. We believe that the planned preventative maintenance of any system should be straight forward and not cost the earth. That’s why our service manager will call you to arrange our service visits in advance and at a convenient time for you. This also enables us to identify any additional works that may be required as part of our visit.
We can assist with help and advice on your requirements as an end user, providing logbooks for record weekly fire alarm tests and staff training on the system if requested.

Emergency Lighting
In addition to design, installation and maintenance, Storm can also cater for periodic testing. Current regulations stipulate that each emergency light should be visually checked weekly for operation, with actual testing of the emergency lighting being carried out on a monthly basis. Once a year, your emergency lighting system should be tested for a 3-hour period, as the regulations state a system should operate for a 3-hour period to allow people to evacuate a building in the event of an emergency where the power has failed.
The annual test must be carried out by a trained and ‘competent person’, with a periodic inspection and test certificate issued if successful. The Storm service includes an annual emergency lighting test contract, with or without monthly testing (should a site have competent staff available) and a once a year visit for an annual 3-hour test and system inspection. Regulations require an onsite Emergency Lighting Logbook which Storm can provide and update after each emergency lighting system test.
